As her world begins to unravel around her, Isobel discovers that dreams, like words, hold more power than she ever imagined, and that the most frightening realities are those of the mind. Now she must find a way to reach Varen before he is consumed by the shadows of his own nightmares. 


This books is a beautifully written story that is much like a paranormal version of Perfect Chemistry. 
 
My favorite character in this entire  book was probably Varen, the goth boy that Isobel gets paired with for her English report. Varen is a mysterious dark character at the beginning that it's very nice to get to know a bit after bit about him as Isobel and Varen spend more and more time together. 

This reminds me of Perfect Chemistry because both same the same "opposites attract" message that I love to see in Young Adult Literature. 


The relationship between Varen and Isobel is very gradual and you can really see them begin to fall for each other. Their relationship doesn't even begin to happen until the end of the book but when they finally become a couple it feels very rightly placed and a very natural place to add romance. 


The paranormal aspect is indeed very creepy. Varen has come up with this very real world in the dream would that is based off of Edgar Allen Poe's stories. Slowly, but surely Isobel does become tangled in Varen's nightmares.


The ending was very sudden, though I really wouldn't have written it another way. 


This is one of my favorite books of all time.
