Inhale. Exhale. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe . . .

    The world is dead.
The survivors live under the protection of Breathe, the corporation that found a way to manufacture oxygen-rich air.

    ALINA
has been stealing for a long time. She’s a little jittery, but not terrified. All she knows is that she’s never been caught before. If she’s careful, it’ll be easy. If she’s careful.

    QUINN
should be worried about Alina and a bit afraid for himself, too, but even though this is dangerous, it’s also the most interesting thing to happen to him in ages. It isn’t every day that the girl of your dreams asks you to rescue her.

    BEA
wants to tell him that none of this is fair; they’d planned a trip together, the two of them, and she’d hoped he’d discover her out here, not another girl.

And as they walk into the Outlands with two days’ worth of oxygen in their tanks, everything they believe will be shattered. Will they be able to make it back? Will they want to?

Breathe is an amazing Dystopian story about a world in which the air has become so low in oxygen that the people of the world who are left have to live in domes to stay alive. Anytime that anyone wants to leave the dome, they have to use air tanks to survive. Breath follows the story of three teens as they discover the truth of their society and take action in what is going on.

My absolute favorite thing about this book was how well the world was put together. As soon as the world outside of the domes was described I had a very vivid and beautiful picture in my mind of the whole world and how magnificently the world outside the domes is put together in the story was really the major reason I loved this book so much. The entire landscape felt so real and for weeks after finishing this book I am still thinking about it and how the world is that they live in.

The plot of Breathe was very typical Dystopian where they live in a world with a corrupt government in which the main characters fight against the wrong. What really made the plot so awesome was the adventure and action and how none of the characters knew exactly what to expect when they when out to fix the world.

Breathe is told with three points of view of three teens in different places in society and how they join together to work with the resistance. At the very beginning of the story it was very hard to connect with any of the characters and for several chapters I even had trouble telling the characters apart, but as the story grew the characters slowly began to have more distinct and interesting personalities and stories and I could easily tell them apart.

The beginning of the story was not very easy to get into and was quite confusing. The story starts off throwing you right into the action with no easing you into the world or introduction to the action. For several chapters I really didn't think I would end up liking the story, and it took some time until I did learn to like the story.

Overall I liked the story, though it was quite hard to get into it.

    1. I'm gathering that Breathe's characters aren't the best, but the setting and story are good so it sounds like agood book for me. Don't get me wrong, awesome characters are great, but I'm a story girl, so I can live without them. Great review, Erika :]
