ALA Annual 2013+ Updates

As you might have seen me mention on twitter I will be at ALA Annual this weekend on Friday and Saturday in the exhibit hall. This will be my first time going to a book conference, and after blogging for more than two years I decided it was about time that I check one out. I'm super excited to experience all that ALA has to offer from meeting all sorts of bloggers, publishers, and maybe even authors to getting to learn about all sorts of books and bookish things, I can't wait to experience it all.

My hopes of what will come out of ALA is that I might get to meet some more bloggers, I've only met 1 other blogger since I've been blogging and I want to change that. I also want to get my name out there. I have some business cards and everything and I want to get out there a little bit. I also want to talk to some publishers and authors. Being in writing, publishing, or some sort of bookish job is something I've wanted to do for awhile and this might be a good chance to hear more about that. I also want to open myself to new publishers and books. I feel like YA books come from a very select scope of publishers and I want to experience books I haven't had a chance to experience yet.

If you'll be going to ALA please let me know and maybe we'll get a chance to say hi at some point. Other things that will be going on coming up- Starting on July 1st I will be participating in Camp NaNoWriMo. I'm extremely excited to participate this year after a successful go in November 2012. Since I'm still going to be in Chicago during the very beginning of the month I might get a late start but I think I'll be able to do it because of the extra free time I get in the summer. I can't wait to work with some wonderful ladies once again, and some for the first time during July. I'll be having some discussions and wars with some lovely ladies (you may have noticed the orange button on the side) Willa, Aneeqah, Rachel, and Megan, and myself have this little twitter thing going on, I can't wait to have some fun with them!
