Waiting On Wednesday

 Teaser from Barnes & Noble
I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us.
Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed us—if we all still believe in our mission. How can I know? There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another . . . but our Legacies are developing, and soon we'll be equipped to fight. Is John Number Four, and is his appearance the sign I've been waiting for? And what about Number Five and Six? Could one of them be the raven-haired girl with the stormy eyes from my dreams? The girl with powers that are beyond anything I could ever imagine? The girl who may be strong enough to bring the six of us together?
They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They tried to catch Number Four in Ohio—and failed.

I am Number Seven. One of six still alive.
And I'm ready to fight.
The Power of six comes out August 23 2011

For those of you who havn't read the first book, here's the teaser from
Amazon Best Books of the Month, August 2010: John Smith has just arrived in Paradise, Ohio, just another stop in a string of small towns where the 15-year-old has been hiding out from the Mogadorians. Those terrifying aliens are hellbent on destroying him and the other nine Loric children who have sought refuge on Earth. The Mogadorians are picking off the surviving kids in numerical order. The first three are dead and John's number is up. Will his Legacies, his defining super powers, develop in time for him to fight against the enemy? I Am Number Four is a breathless page-turner of a sci-fi novel that will have readers rooting for the teen alien who must unleash his fire power to save himself, his human friends, and the planet. This is the first of a slated multi-book series that, judging by this first book, will help reinvigorate a traditional YA genre that's grown a bit light on strong character development. So, gear-up sci-fi fans, the battle for Earth is on and there's a new kid in town! --Lauren Nemroff

What to Look Forward To Reading

My top five can't wait books!

Eternal by Gillian Shields

The third book in the Immortal series. This series is the great book for those going through summertime boredom blues and is sure to brighten your day with the mixture of immortals, magic, and love. Eternal sure going to be interesting when fans are wondering what in the world could come next.

Wildcat Fireflies by Amber Kizer

The Second book in the Meridian series. The first book, Meridian is the story of discovery and love. Meridian has always known she was weird, sick even. Every morning she would wake up to dead animals lying in her bed, and every morning she would clean their remains. But on her 16th birthday something different happens. Upon witnessing a car crash she suddenly feels a sudden pain throughout her body, and her parents send her to live with her great aunt where she finds out her true identity.

 Hades by Alexandra Adornetto

The second book in the Halo series has fans counting down the days (including me!) as you can see on the side of the page (count down bar) as the days get closer and closer, readers get more and more excited.
Halo is the story of love, chance, and of course ANGELS! Who dosn't love those angels?

The Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon

The Carrier of the Mark was discovered my Harper Teen by the website inkpop.com were aspiring authors post their work. Leigh was just lucky enough to land the first spot in the sites history (you go girl!)

I personally do not know exactly what the story is about, I have not read it on inkpop, I'm waiting to buy it is stores. But I can tell you that this is one of my top five this summer.

The Death Cure by James Dashner

The first two books in the Maze runner series leave readers wanting for more from the very beginning. Thomas wakes up at the beginning of the maze runner in a pitch black box, alone and memory-less. The only thing Thomas remembers is just that, his name.

Matched is one of my favorite futuristic books told in the view of 17 year old Cassia who lives in a perfect society. The Society chooses everything for you from your food to whom you marry and where you work. Cassia has always believed in the society, and when her best friend Xavier is chosen to be her match she believes he is perfect, but when she sees another face on the matching screen she begins to wonder, is Xavier her true match?
