In My Mailbox 4/15/12

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren to showcase what book bloggers have bought/received/borrowed over the past week and share it with others.

From Library

An intense look at the rules of high school attraction -- and the price that's paid for them.

It happens every year. A list is posted, and one girl from each grade is chosen as the prettiest, and another is chosen as the ugliest. Nobody knows who makes the list. It almost doesn't matter. The damage is done the minute it goes up.

This is the story of eight girls, freshman to senior, "pretty" and "ugly." And it's also the story of how we see ourselves, and how other people see us, and the tangled connection of the two.

Haven Moore can't control her visions of a past with a boy called Ethan, and a life in New York that ended in fiery tragedy. In our present, she designs beautiful dresses for her classmates with her best friend Beau. Dressmaking keeps her sane, since she lives with her widowed and heartbroken mother in her tyrannical grandmother's house in Snope City, a tiny town in Tennessee. Then, an impossible group of coincidences conspire to force her to flee to New York, to discover who she is and who she was.
In New York, Haven meets Iain Morrow and is swept into an epic love affair that feels both deeply fated and terribly dangerous. Iain is suspected of murdering a rock star and Haven wonders, could he have murdered her in a past life? She visits the Ouroboros Society and discovers a murky world of reincarnation that stretches across millennia. Haven must discover the secrets hidden in her past lives, and loves¸ before all is lost and the cycle begins again.

  1. Oh I want to read The List so bad! I love the look on the girl's face (on the cover), it just carries this "oh no" look that is exactly what I imagine my face would do if I saw my name on the list! Enjoy reading :)

  2. I actually have just finished The List, and it was really good! I thought having 8 narrators would be super confusing, but it's not at all. It was pretty amazing, in my opinion. I hope you like it too!

    Happy reading! =)
