This has been so far my most busy week for books that actually came in the mail instead of the library or the store. 

Side note before I begin: Yesterday was exciting for me because I hit 30 followers! Thank you guys so much, I only have 20 more to go until I have my 50 follower giveaway, oh and tomorrow is my 2 month blog-a-vercey as well as my first time going to a book signing (pictures soon!)




 On Monday I got a book that I have been waiting for for a long time. It's Wildcat Fireflies by Amber Kizer I was actually expecting an ARC copy so I thought it would come sooner than it did, but when I opened it I was surprised to find it was a finished copy and it was hardcover! So that was a nice surprise.
I am a big Meridian fan so I was very happy when I found out I had won a copy from Random House's Random Buzzer's. Review is Posted.

And from Lili at Chica Reader I received two RAK on Wednesday. She sent me a copy of Hush, Hush and and ARC of Clockwork Angel. Thank you so much Lili!

Friday I got two books that I had won in a contest on Bibliopunkk's Blog. I won an ARC of The Dragon Tooth by N.D. Wilson, which is middle grade, which I don't normally read, but I may have my sister review for us on my blog if I don't read it. And I also won an ARC of Sacrifice by Laura J. Burns & Melinda Metz on Bibliopunkks blog. I have not read the first book in this series, but I'm getting the book from the library and intend to read and review both. Thank you bibliopunkk!

Review: Wildcat Fireflies

First reaction:
I have been waiting for this book ever since I read and loved the first book, Meridian a few months ago. This book is in the point of view of two girls, instead of one like Meridian was. Meridian is the fist point of view, and Juliet is the second. I like how the author incorporated both of the girl's points of view instead of just Meridian's because if we did not get to hear Juliet's side this book would have been half as exciting and it would be much more confusing.

Characters:

Meridian: Meridian is a part angel link between out world and heaven who helps the dead and dying pass into heaven. She only found out about her powers a few months ago when he aunt, who was also like Meridian told her. Meridian's aunt passed and now she is on a journey with her boyfriend, Tens to find others like her.

Tens: Tens is Meridian's protector and boyfriend who was born to guard her from evil.

Juliet: Juliet is part Angel but has not yet uncovered her powers. She lives in a foster home/nursing home under keeper of the house, Mistress, the cruel woman who works the children there until they are old enough to leave.

Review:
As already  being a fan of the first book I had high expectations for this  book. I felt that this book seemed to linger in some situations for to long, but that did help with the understanding. If I were to write this I would have added more action through out the book, and then a better ending fight, which this book lacked.  Overall, I am glad I read it and I would recommend it to any paranormal fans.

Wildcat Fireflies by Amber Kizer

The Second book in the Meridian series. The first book, Meridian is the story of discovery and love. Meridian has always known she was weird, sick even. Every morning she would wake up to dead animals lying in her bed, and every morning she would clean their remains. But on her 16th birthday something different happens. Upon witnessing a car crash she suddenly feels a sudden pain throughout her body, and her parents send her to live with her great aunt where she finds out her true identity.






 Hades by Alexandra Adornetto

The second book in the Halo series has fans counting down the days (including me!) as you can see on the side of the page (count down bar) as the days get closer and closer, readers get more and more excited.
Halo is the story of love, chance, and of course ANGELS! Who dosn't love those angels?




The Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon 

The Carrier of the Mark was discovered my Harper Teen by the website inkpop.com were aspiring authors post their work. Leigh was just lucky enough to land the first spot in the sites history (you go girl!)

I personally do not know exactly what the story is about, I have not read it on inkpop, I'm waiting to buy it is stores. But I can tell you that this is one of my top five this summer.



  
 The Death Cure by James Dashner


The first two books in the Maze runner series leave readers wanting for more from the very beginning. Thomas wakes up at the beginning of the maze runner in a pitch black box, alone and memory-less. The only thing Thomas remembers is just that, his name.
